Ring Dance
Turning the Ring
A highlight of the social year for seniors is the Senior
Ring Dance. Senior Ring Dance began in 1937 when a group of seniors decided
that a dance with the ring as a theme would be appropriate as the senior
class' final function. Until the Ring Dance, the senior has worn his/her
ring with the seal and inscription turned toward him/her.
At the dance each couple in turn steps through the
huge replica of the Aggie Ring. When inside this large ring, the date
removes the seniors ring from his/her finger and reverses it to
show the seal and inscription to the world. After the ring has been turned,
the couple steps from the large replica.
