Corps Trips
In Enemy Territory
Every fall the Corps of Cadets takes two Corps trips
to attend the away games of the varsity Aggie football team. The entire
Corps leaves College Station and assembles in the downtown area of the
opposing team's city at midnight the night before the game and conducts
a yell practice (see 12th
man).
A Full Military Parade
The Corps then marches through the downtown area in
a full military parade to demonstrate our support of the team and the
strength of the 12th man. Corps Trips are usally limited to cities within
the state of Texas and the Corps will always travel to Austin when A&M
plays t.u. When the Corps comes to town they are occupied by the Aggie
Band which marches in front and Parsons' Mounted Cavalry, which marches
behind.
The Cavalry fires its 1902 model 75mm field artillery
piece nicknamed the "spirit of '02" to start the parade and
the band steps off on "Hullabloo". Check out the Corps Calendar
to find out if a Corps trip is coming to your city and come out to show
your support for the Aggies' most spirited and cherished part of the Twelfth
Man, the Fightin Texas Aggie Corps of Cadets.
